Roland Merullo

Roland MerulloIn addition to writing Breakfast with Buddha, Roland Merullo is the critically acclaimed author of eleven books. His memoir about growing up in a tight-knit community outside Boston, Revere Beach Elegy, won the 2000 Massachusetts Book Award for Non-Fiction.

His most recent novels are American Savior and Fidel's Last Days, both published in 2008. Merullo is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Brown University. He has written for Newsweek, Forbes FYI, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and many other publications. His novel Revere Beach Boulevard was a finalist for the L. L. Winship/PEN New England Award.  He lives with his wife and two children in western Massachusetts.
