  1. Where do I go to find and borrow library eBooks?
Go to the Digital Media Catalog website at http://digital.minlib.net and browse or search for titles. There are eBooks and eAudiobooks available, so please check to make sure the title is an eBook.
  2. I'm thinking of getting an eBook Reader, what should I get?
Consumer Reports reviewed eReaders and tablets in the December 2011 issue. Please ask at the Reference desk to see a copy of this issue.

  6. How many eBooks can I have out at a time?
You can have up to 5 items out at a time. You can also have up to 5 requests in at a time.
If you have reached your limit of items checked out you can return a book you have finished.
Or you can access books in the public domain by scrolling to the bottom of the page and click the Additional eBooks Always Available button, as these books do not count against your limit.

  8. What happens when the loan period on the eBook ends?
It will just stop working, you do not need to return it and there are never any late fees. If you want to borrow it again, you can do so right away, if it is available. If it is not available you can request it.

  12. When I look at the details about a ebook, I see there are several different format options. How do I know what books will work on my eReader or tablet?

-Nook, Sony Reader or Kobo users can choose between EPUB or PDF format eBooks. With EPUB, you may change the font size of your eBook, and the text automatically reflows within the display screen. EPUB is perfect for creating an instant large print eBook, or for reading on an eBook reader. In PDF eBooks the text and graphics remain fixed. For larger print, you may zoom in on the text. PDF is ideal for eBooks with many images such as picture books and graphic novels.

-Kindle users should select the Kindle format
